It pretty much goes without saying that services that offer digital downloads aren't trying to appeal to audiophiles (not saying you are one), and iTunes specifically is trying to appeal to the mainstream that is used to radio and such.

You can buy an external hard drive that stores 1TB for 50-60USD. I haven't done all the math but you can store a hell of a lot of free 320 kbps MP3s on one of those.

Wait, wait. Did they NOT have MP3s in the '60s?

I just meant that since they had different recording/playback equipment back then, high bitrates wouldn't be necessary IF they had MP3s. My bad.

I've bought like five or six things digitally in the whole of my e-career. Mostly singles, never a full album project.

Digital downloads are a waste of money imo it's often cheaper to just buy the hard copy than to download.

I steal it then if I really like it I'll buy it on CD. Come at me.

You've obviously never bought CDs in Norway.

If you answer it the RIAA will come busting through your front door. You better not.

Tbh I just buy off Amazon usually but it seems they've increased the prices...

Anything over £5 for a CD is too much imo.
