Oriental - asian music ideas??
I've taken quite a liking to this kind of music for some time now, and would like for someone with knowledge to provide me with a starting point maybe??
Please, if anyone has any suggestions ? Instrumental or with vocals it doesn't matter as long as it is nice. For some examples: Fifth Guardian - from Epica's new album ; Some songs from the Journey soundtrack maybe (even though i don't think they're very asian like) It's my first post, so don't be very harsh Thank you. |

The only musician that springs to my mind to suggest to you is a Syrian born Iraqi raised oud player called Khyam Allami.
He's worked with more western rockier bands but his best stuff is generally his solo oud work. I think he once appeared at a BBC Proms concert. I hope that's helped a bit. |

Osamu Kitajima is a japanese artist from the 60s and 70s, chill stuff with a decent amount of cultural influence.
Orphaned Land is a band specifically dubbed 'oriental metal', I'd suggest the track 'Ocean Land'.

Thank you so much for the suggestions guys. Khyam Allami is nice and all but i was looking for something more orchestral maybe? Osamu Kitajima is very interesting and thank you so much for pointing him out. As for orphaned land, sorry but I don't really like that kind of music . it frightens me a little
