What if all the members of Metallica died in the bus accident instead of just Cliff Burton, and we were spared 25 years of ****ty albums.

Well I think their lives are more valuable than preserving the overall quality of their discography but that just be me.

Maybe he would have rejoined Trauma and we could have seen where that awesomeness would have gone, seeing as they only had the one album.

Thanks I hadn't heard that, they had a really good guitarist, surprised they didn't go anywhere, but the one song at least sounds a bit NWOHM'ish so maybe they came to the game to late.

Anyways here is another one. what if Dave Mustaine had never gone kookoo and we could still respect his political lyrics. He's ruined Megadeth for me!

They were Cliff's band just before he joined Metallica so they were pre-thrash. That record was from 1984.

He'd still suck. His lyrics are awful and annoying but Megadeth's music is uninspired and rehashed enough these days to suck on its own merits. I pretty much gave up on them after United Abominations. That was the third album in a row that was supposed to be their "comeback" album, and it was barely any better than the last one. ****, at least The System Has Failed had "Die Dead Enough". Dumb as **** song but it stays in your head for days.

The black metal world would be very different, I believe. Because love or hate Varg and his crazy antics.. A lot of bands did take note from Burzum, and Vargs style. And lets face it.. it created a lot of really good bands.

That being said maybe Mayhem goes on to be THE black metal act everyone worshipped? But who knows how that would have turned out.

What if the whole grunge/alternative thing never quite caught on in popular culture and glam metal remained a significant style of music all the way into the mid or even late nineties?
