The Cure don't do much for me either. If I had to choose one, Disintegration has Lovesong on it, so it wins but I really have no great love for either record. |

I hardly ever listen to either of those records anymore. They both have, imo, some of the artist's best songs on them but there's a lot of filler. Disintegration is more consistently good imo, really only one or two tracks I know I'm iffy on while TQID really only has 3 songs I like. Disintegration, for me.

Wow! I love both bands. I am more of a fan of the Cure's early repertoire....but Disintegration...damn good album.
Big mouth strikes again, and There is a light that never goes out, vs Love Song & Prayers for Rain. I'll have to take a rain cheque until I can find the time to sit down and listen to Disintegration again. |

I'll abstain from this because I haven't heard any Cure.

If it softens the blow at all, I hadn't heard Wonderwall until last month or so, so just assume that if something's important to music history that I have neglected to listen to it.
EDIT: HA Goofle beat me to it.

I enjoy both albums equally.
Smiths- Some girls are Bigger then others, There is a light, cemetry gates, big mouth, boy with a thorn in his side, and I know its over. Cure- Lullaby, Fascination street, pictures of you, love song, home sick, prayers for rain. If I had to choose one song off of either it would be I know its over by the Smiths. That song used to resonate to me alot back when I was going through my failed relationship. Morrisey killed it on those vocals and I really enjoy the subdued guitar work by Marr, hes certainly one of the best early 80's uk guitar players by a longshot.

Add another, Disintegration is a great album especially when you've had a bad break up, but overall I find Robert Smith to be too wheepy on this one. The Queen is Dead, however is melancholy with a lot of good lifts, and features some great songwriting by both Morrissey and Marr throughout. So...The Queen is Dead Disintegration 4 Queen is Dead 4 (counting Yorkedaddy) |
