Exclamation John Mayer thinks he can go on tour?

John Mayer put out an album almost a year ago that he barely promoted and now he thinks he's going to go on some big summer tour? And apparently The Jimmy Law Band is opening for him? I don't understand what these guys are thinking. John clearly doesn't care much about his career anymore, he's too busy running around with Katy Perry. Not a fan anymore.

John Mayer still has a huge fan base, he can tour whenever he wants thanks to his previous success. A lot of singers/bands go on tour when they aren't promoting an album. You contradicted yourself in your post because The Jimmy Law Band doesn't even have a full album out yet which is proof that you don't even need an album to tour, as long as people like you.

But I'm curious about the underlining question, why do artists put out these albums that they've put so much of themselves into and then not bother to promote it? Why bother making the album?

Ego (thinking they're so big that they dont need to promote), scheduling conflicts, personal issues?
