Ah! I didn`t realise that it was an issue of how long an album would last. Now that I think about it, I remember once being surprised by an album that was noticably lighter than normal and seriously flexible - didn`t like the feel of it very much!

I don't know too many music jornalists
I don't know any journalist. I rather find stuff out on my own. I think of music journalist as either sitting on their high horse insulting good musician about their music, which is ironic because they [journalist] can't play a lick. Or just write drivel - positive reviews about crap bands that kinda comes off like they are pushing a defective product.

edit: I mean the professional music journalist

37 out of 100. Interesting, I would have thought higher, but I didn't check a lot of the "shaming" ones because I feel that's more douche than snob. (Maybe they are the same thing, but I don't shame people a lot)

You make it seem like if you declare yourself a fan you have to like everything an artist does, even if they the band starts producing cheese, and if you don't then you are "fake." Can't fans have a mind of their own and decide what like what they like about a band instead of the band/producer/record company saying "here like this." Do people without a lemming mentality "piss you off?"
I don't think that's the same thing. The question doesn't say 'have you stopped liking a band because of their new material' it said specifically just because more people started liking them.

Sounds like Robert Christgau.

I know what the question is. I check no for that, that's something I don't recall doing. I am usually on the other end where I might like a band because of a particular song I they've done (e.g. Yellow by Coldplay) and see them later on hated for being popular or for the music they make later on in their career.

You came to the conclusion the people who stop liking a band more people started liking them are "fake."Whether you think I am right or wrong, I didn't see it that way. I just try to provide a reasonable explanation why they are not fake. You are free to draw any conclusion you like, just as people are free to stop liking a band whenever and for whatever reason they like.

Interesting quiz. I think it's accurate. My result:

"You checked off 27 out of 100 on this list!
You’re a major music nerd, and most people in your life consider you to be an expert. You’re very committed, but there’s some lines you don’t cross.
"

Actually I haven't been to many shows or traveled long distance for music (events). If I have the money for these things, I would do of course.
Also I don't think I have phases, since I listen to music cross-over and the ex-relation to music will probably be never given. Fun quiz at any rate.

I got 17.

Mainly checked the ones in regards to purchases.

Yes, I've bought obscure tapes and vinyls. How does that make me a snob!?

Meh.
