When the full band is gigging, not so much. I'm also in a smaller group where it's just a singer/songwriter/guitar player, and me. I went to her house on Sunday, and we played for about 5 hours. We get together about twice a month. So there's that.
When I record I'm usually alone (well as alone as one can be in a dining room attached to a kitchen, where my *cough* studio is set up... love it when the GF decides to start doing dishes mid-solo), but once in a while people will be over and I'll ham it up a bit more than when I'm by myself. I do love taking my nylon acoustic out to a meadow, or a nice shady spot in the woods though. It's kind of spiritual.

Mostly I play - or better practice alone.
In general, all piano pieces I play currently are for solo piano. However I do enjoy accompanying and I've played some piece for four hands. My main instrument is the recorder. I often play solos but I use to play a duet with my sister or a teacher once in a while. As well I'm a member in 2 ensembles and I like playing with guitar students, too. I think it would be fun to get together with other musicians to jam... that's not so common here, though things can always change!

I used to play alone a lot, and I notice there's a tendency to adopt strange rhythms that people have trouble playing along with when you do that... or to not maintain a robust rhythm at all, which sounds neat when you're alone, but adding other instruments becomes difficult.
The more I play with a band (particularly a drummer) the more I develop robust rhythm-keeping. Piano works great alone because of the register range and ability to sound more than 6 notes at a time. Guitar tends to turn out kind of folky, or just like it's missing a part when it's played alone.

Am I the only one who giggled like a cretin the entire time they were reading this thread?

I "practice" alone and I usually do it until I get a cramp in my hand. When ever I play alone I can stop if I get a cramp. I find it hard to do when playing with others because I feel have to go on. I don't want to disappoint them so I feel I am forced to bear the pain.
