Default Should music be classified?

Do you think music videos should be classified in the same way films and video games are?

Is this taking away the creativity and freedom a music artist should have?
What are your opinions?

I think you should read our rules. You've now made essentially the same thread three times. Expect two be be deleted. There is no need to make three identical threads and such behaviour will get you banned if it continues.

People classify things because it's helpful when you're discussing them. When you say "jazz", for example, it at least gives someone a starting point from which you can further describe what you're talking about. If we didn't have this kind of shorthand we'd be wasting all our time simply explaining what an artist sounds like before we could even begin saying anything of interest about them.

I don't see any reason that this would impact an artist's creativity or freedom. It's just a helpful tool in discussion.

Music videos classified like films and video games? Do you mean classification ratings?

Well he's specifically talking about music videos so I'm guessing he means content rather than calling it a "jazz video clip". I'm not sure why you'd try classifying a video clip as a music genre.

Mmm. yeah.
I'm far less likely to take someone's post seriously if they spam the forum with three versions of it IN THE SAME HOUR!! That sort of behaviour doesn't make me want to respond in any sort of positive way to a thread.

When I first read the OP, I thought it was more geared to how the rating system works but idk why they would do that for music videos.

If a music video is too graphic, it just gets banned and is only available online.

Some music videos do have a little warning at the beginning if they have questionable content but it's very rare that it happens.
