Have you met any musicians?
Have any of you met a notable musician, and were they what you expected them to be?
I met Gordon Lightfoot once. He was what you'd expect, fairly quiet and polite. He also looked rather like a skeleton. |
I met my favourite drummer Han Bennink about a couple months back after a show and he was a very down to earth guy that wished me and my friend well on our music. Made my day.
|
I met Ian Brown at a petrol station on the way to Manchester. Nearly fainted.
I met Bez (yes, he does count) and Manny whilst they were DJing at a local club. Can't think of any more. |
I've met several, but you've never heard of them because they're really, really underground and stuff
|
You killed them before they got famous and stuff.
|
Most notable for me was surely JJ Grey. The venue I saw him play has a bar and hotel attached to it so I stopped for a beer after the show and he came in. He sat right next to me and I couldn't help but start a conversation. We cheers-ed and clinked glasses and discussed Tom Petty and I got pregnant in my heart.

Ive met a couple of local rappers that are local superstars here in Puerto Rico.
And to my surprise all of them were actually quite nice, :) i actually met one of my fav rappers growing up 'Rey Pirin' and he was awesome!! (Not that you'll care, but he is the 4th rapper in this vid, the black guy with the raspy voice) |
The most successful musician in terms of listeners and stuff that I've ever met is probably me.
So, in other words, I've never met anyone even remotely accomplished. |
I've been lucky too have met a good number. Here are two standouts:
Albert King, the nicest, most down to earth human being (musician) I ever met. Steven Tyler, the biggest a**hole, jerkoff to ever take the stage. |
Bizzy Bone, Winona Judd, M.I.A, and The Arcade Fire.
