I also met the DJs from the Upbeats because while waiting to get into a festival my friends and I drunk a bottle of vodka and we wouldn't let cars come through (that is until we realised they needed to get in because they were in the line up!):

Ki and I met Sparks last April (brothers Ron and Russell Mael). They were very polite, smelled nice, and their hands were soft. I was weak in the knees for days.

I've met a few, most notable being Dave Murray from Iron Maiden. I was at Buddy Guys Legends watching Duke Robillard, and John Hammond Jr. and I went up to the bar to get a drink, and right next to me was Dave Murray. I was stammering like a little school girl, but managed to squeak out something like "I've tried to learn every song you've ever done" or something like that. He gave me a nod, and I went back to my table all star-struck and giddy.

My daughter called me from Buddy Guy's house once too. She went to HS with his grandson Kevin, and they were doing a project for one of their classes. I about dropped my phone when she told me where she was.

I was in the Army with Turbo B from Snap! Played a few tunes with him before he made it big with "I Got The Power". We were in the same unit, and we lived down the hall from each other in the barracks.

...and there's been a few Dennis DeYoung sightings around here over the years since the dude lives in the ritzy part of town. I've never had the pleasure of actually talking to him, but I hear he's a real prick.

If we're going to count sightings as well, I was on the same flight to Chicago as Mike Patton once when I was 11 or 12. Didn't talk to him, but he was like 8 rows in front of me.

Were you into Faith No More at 12 years old? If so, you're awesome.

Then there's always the "Friend of a Friend" thing too, but I'll refrain. Don't wanna be that big of a douche.

I've met a lot of musicians (sign this! shake my hand, et cetera) but in terms of like, extended conversations I've met: all of M.D.C., Ron Reyes, Phil Elverum (I did lights/sound for him), Joey Shithead, Will Oldham, Mark Adkins from Guttermouth, Nick Oliveri, and Dean Ween.

I was a pretty awesome 12 year old thanks to my dad. I've been listening to mr bungle since I was 9 so that's where I knew Patton from. I liked FNM but never seriously listened to them at that point.

Ian Haug from Powderfinger who was so drunk at the time he tried to pick me up. Pretty creepy, every time I came around his area at the pub while working he would hug me. Then one more time before he left. The Hold Steady. Birds of Tokyo. Mark McEntee from The Divinyls who was off his face. Keith Harris of Black Eyed Peas who was also drunk, just randomly sat down beside me at a bar I frequent and started talking...
