No bluegrass section??

That is pretty lame, bluegrass is a pretty huge genre and has more great songs than lots of more popular genres. Look up Railroad Earth or David Grisman if you want to see some talented musicians.

Musiclover420 03-17-2014 10:59 PM

Also their should be a psychedelic music section.

Bluegrass can be in the country section and Psy in the ROCK

Prog & Psychedelic Rock - Music Banter

Any more complaints?

Musiclover420 03-17-2014 11:10 PM

Bluegrass is way better than country though. It incorporates more ethnic sounds IE Irish fiddle tune style jamming. And good Psychedelic music blends many genres such as rock, blues, funk, jazz, reggae, cultural styles, and practically anything else. Therefor I think it deserves its own category too.

That took me 15 seconds

Musiclover420 03-17-2014 11:15 PM

Well I am unfamiliar with this forum sorry.

Paul Smeenus 03-17-2014 11:19 PM

All I did was google "bluegrass music banter", then followed the "all results from www dot musicbanter dot com" link.

The prog & psychedelic section is right there on the front page

Musiclover420 03-18-2014 01:45 AM

It is a sub forum of metal that does not make me feel any better about it, and yes, bluegrass is way better than country. It has ethnic roots and some of the most talented musicians ever are and were bluegrass players.

It's a subforum of Rock & Metal, which makes sense given that Psychedelic Rock is, obviously, a subgenre of rock.

Dylstew 03-18-2014 07:46 AM

We can't make a seperate board for every sub genre in existance. Bluegrass is a country sub genre, so it goes into the country forum. Psychedelic rock, as the name suggests, is a rock genre. So it goes into the rock & Metal forum.
Should I whine that there's no thrash metal forum? No, because there's a Rock & Metal forum.

Bluegrass is pre country. Country makes me think of ****ty backwoods americans singing about pabst. Bluegrass is much more than country as psychedelic music is much more than rock. They both tap into lots of other genres and are quite unique. This music forum seems pretty lame I don't know why I bothered to sign up.

No, country is older by a couple decades. I think maybe you're conflating bluegrass with old time music, which is a style with a lot of similarities with bluegrass in terms of instrumentation.

Zer0 03-18-2014 04:33 PM

No polka section either? That is pretty lame, polka is a pretty huge genre.

I know why you bothered to sign up. Just to unload your product then piss off.

You might as well skip the unloading part.

I tried giving your comment a chance because I barely know anything about country music or bluegrass, but you lost all your credibility to me when you said ''as psychedelic music is much more than rock.''. You can like psychedelic rock more, that's okay, but it's still a ROCK sub genre. It's in the damn name! Ofcourse the forum board is going to have the ROOT/MAIN genre as the board title! Besisdes there's even a Prog & Psychedelic Rock suboard, and there's only 2 sub boards in there. That sentace you said makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Without normal Rock or hard rock or whatever Psychedelic wouldn't exist. Psychedelic rock also still sounds like a type of rock music. It's like saying ''I love thrash metal, but heavy metal sucks balls'' Or ''I love reggae, but Early jamaican Ska And rocksteady can **** off'' It just makes no sense to me whatsoever. You can like one more than the other, sure, but you're taking it to a whole new level.
