Also, I have this Panopticon album to listen to and still 90-odd out of the 100 best Prog albums of 2013, not to mention another six or seven series for the Couch Potato and three major series for the Playlist. And after that I may end up getting busy!

Hey, you opened the floodgates!

I love jazz, but I'm not really into fusion. Except perhaps Weather Report, but only because of Jaco Pastorius.

I did yes, but I was like a guy going into a library (remember them, kids?) and asking "Do you have anything on engine repair" and ending up with "Take this, and these, and this one, oh and you'll need all four of these, and this is good, and don't forget this" etc...

No that I don't appreciate the recs, but I need to start slow and build, if at all, carefully.

Well that's probably because you started a thread about it in General Music with a massive attention grabbing headline.

Had you gone into the The Jazz & Blues Recommendation Thread in the Jazz & Blues forum and just asked for a similar album to Kind Of Blue you might have just had a couple of replies.

How about Brazilian styled larky Jazz? Does a good job at existing slightly in the background and with enough variation so as to evade downright cringe making .

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. As you may or may not know, I've now started a jazz journal, so will review any recs received here in there. Anyone is free to keep posting here, but my reactions will be only delivered in the journal. You are of course free to comment or post further recs there. Hope you can drop by!
