Chumbawamba is a good one....they were around for 30 YEARS! Just that one big hit right in the middle of their career.

Blind Melon is one of the bands I come up with as well when I think about 90s alternative rock. The Wallflowers, Third Eye Blind, and the Gin Blossoms are a couple other bands I like from that particular time period too. I think the OP mentiond the band Fastball and The Way.
There's actually a lot of good alternate music that came out the 90's that was only popular for a short period of time.

That first Blind Melon album is great. Change is another song I love off that album, did that song do well in the USA? Don't think it got any play here in Australia.

now i have to think of something constructive :/ ...
I'd say Asaf Avidan, but I only know how it is in Germany.
In Germany there's only the Reckoning song which is known,
the rest is just blended out.
And he's really an awesome artist,
but I guess that the USA might have appreciated him more than Germany did

barenaked ladies is a good call. i know they had several hits but i do think they get lumped into the 1 hit wonder category in conversations. also, same with the wallflowers.

I do not even know what a "Plug" is. lol.

I just put them on a playlist on my new 8 tracks profile too. Going to start doing a regular 90's thing. See where it goes.

But "Stars" made by first playlist.

Along with this, which I do not know if it fits in this thread, but it should...

Shame Failure never hit the big time, but this was a minor hit for them. Glad to see they are opening for Tool on this this, hopefully bring some attention to them.

I really loved "Fush Yu Mang" when it came out. Spin Doctors just makes me think of Sarah Silverman Program.
