I do that, if I feel I want more of the song or if its stuck in my head.
For example, today I listened to Chumbawamba's alblum "Tubthumper" and I could not stop going back to "Tubthumping" and "Amnesia" because they are my favorite tracks on the alblum.

I do it until I get sick of it.

Also, if a song is stuck in my head and I haven't actually heard it yet. I will play it two or three times in a row then I'm good.

I do the exact same thing myself Deej.

Maybe its because I am a musician and I just have to get any particular song so imbedded to the point I can recite by instinct or play it blindfolded. I always pick up some new musical accent (with any song) no matter how often I repetitiously listen to it. Ive actually listened to a particular song for a solid week at a time (or more) before, non-stop.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Same. I used to do a lot of it in 2009, but at some point I really came around to the "album format", and now I just don't feel inclined.

I will however, put an album on repeat without hesitation.

It seems scary to me that some people do the constant listening. What strange thoughts are running through their heads, or what are they are trying to block out?

That defiantly inspires us to begin expanding our way of thinking.

That's very nice, but I have the most open and flexible mind of almost everyone I know.
Musicians need to analyze things like you said..
