I dont think I can dissociate between what I like "rationally" or "irrationally". Or what the difference between the two even is. My explanations on why I like something would be something like: "I like listening to this because it sounds good"

I have a feeling that irrational music love is the same as a guilty pleasure. And I've never subscribed to that idea. I'll listen to justin bieber the same way I listen to yo la tengo, and I don't care if one makes me look like a better music listener in the eyes of certain people

I totally agree. I just used the title of the other thread for a little MB continuity.

The real point of the thread is to discuss artists you like that don't necessarily fit into your general tastes.

Does this mean my philosophical input was all wasted?

I've slightly updated the original post to make it easier to understand the point of the thread.

A few artists that really go against the grain of my usual preferences:

Mindless Self Indulgence
Daft Punk
Sigue Sigue Sputnik
Pet Shop Boys

I don't know, a lot of modern/semi-modern electronic music isn't really all that great but I do find some of it enjoyable, I guess.

I'm just sayin' -- this video was way too much for a horny pre-teen boy in the 80s.

The Wilson sisters in their prime are enough to make straight chicks swoon (and if you ever hear a woman of taste tell you any different, she's lying).

Ann, though. Dear lord. What a beauty.

I've seen much more convincing transvestites. These two fellas should have put a bit more effort in.
