Default Wedding Music Help

Hi, so we have most of our wedding planned so far but we are struggling with the music,

Currently we have the song for my fiancé's portion of the Slideshow (She's Everything To Me by Brad Paisley) but we're having problems finding a female artist singing about a man in the same way... Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" springs to mind but that song itself is nearly 20 years old, AND my fiance doesn't like Celine Dion.

Also we are looking for a "Couple's song" for the portion of the slideshow where we have the photos of us, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have the most recent there with "It's Your Love" but it's a little slow for us despite ticking all the other boxes.

Unfortunately, every Google search I do for MODERN or CONTEMPORARY love songs i.e. songs less that 10 years old, trawls up the same list of songs ranging from the 60's to the 90's with only 1 or 2 songs being any later.

I would particularly like songs of a Country Flavour

If anyone has some suggestion I'd would be most grateful.

So you are a country fan? The Dance by Garth Brooks,

Mandatory wedding tunes
The Cupid Shuffle, The Electric Slide...

Take your time finding a dj..or band...

If it were me,

I would walk down the isle to feel flows by the beach boys..
There would be everything from Motown , to. Diwight Yoakam...
But thats just me....

Congratulations btw and good luck...

Maybe nobody writes wedding songs anymore?

But I bet if you went into Christian pop you could find some recent ones - if you're into a religious theme.

You can't go wrong with The Carpenters. Or maybe even Air Supply or Barry Manilow.

But you're looking for modern tunes.

Broaden your horizons, man. There's some perfect gems in the past.

Trust me, I love the classic love songs, and if I were choosing I already know what every song would be. It is my fiances wish for more modern music. And I'm asking here because I don't know much about music past the year 2000

The other problem I have is I actually listen to the words so when a "love song" is about saying goodbye, or being hurt etc as good as the song is it gets struck off the list.

Perfect example Sinead O'Connor, Nothing Compares To You.

At first glance it looks like a great choice, but when you listen to it you find she's mourning a love that will never be.

The Way You Love Me, Faith Hill

Quote:
If I could grant
You one wish
I'd wish you could see the way you kiss
Ooh, I love watching you
Baby
When you're driving me crazy

Ooh, I love the way you
Love the way you love me
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
Ooh, to feel the way I feel with your arms around me
I only wish that you could see the way you love me
The way you love

It's not right
It's not fair
What you're missing over there
Someday I'll find a way to show you
Just how lucky I am to know you

Ooh, I love the way you
Love the way you love me
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
Ooh, to feel the way I feel with your arms around me
I only wish that you could see the way you love me
The way you love me

You're the million reasons why
There's love reflecting in my eyes

Ooh, I love the way you
Love the way you love me
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
Ooh, to feel the way I feel with your arms around me
I only wish that you could see the way you love me
The way you love me
The way you love me

Ooh, the way you love me
The way you love me
Looks good to me.

How about this song by Alison Krauss & Union Station?

Alison Krauss and Union Station - Baby, Now That I've Found You [Music Video] - YouTube

She has a lovely voice and sings in a country style, so it might be worth looking through some of their other tracks as well.

Or how about this acoustic-style cover of Wild Horses by The Sundays?

The Sundays - Wild Horses - YouTube

Ingrid Michaelson has a couple of songs that might be appropriate:

INGRID MICHAELSON - "The Way I Am" - (official music video) - YouTube

Ingrid Michaelson - Everybody - YouTube

This song points out how love can make even a bad day seem awesome.

Dido - Thank You - YouTube

Whilst I hate to recommend Taylor Swift, this duet of hers with Ed Sheeran, is a country-flavoured love song, with male and female singing.

Taylor Swift - Everything Has Changed ft. Ed Sheeran - YouTube
