I heard he was a self proclaimed celibate. Then I heard he had an affair with Michael Stipe, the lead singer from the rock band "REM." Then I heard he was in love with no one but himself. I don't know anymore, at this point it doesn't make sense trying to figure out who Morrisey is.

But in regards to Morissey being celibate, I don't know if he was "straight edge" and was also not into it like not being into drugs or just plain tired of playing the field or was in a monogamous relationship and desired his privacy. Maybe he was trying to be responsible during the age of AIDS and said that he was celibate in an attempt not to glorify making one night stands like most Pop and Rock stars did at the time.
