I agree with your assessment as far as pop music goes.

Overall though, my favorite songs of the year are "Earthshine" by Summoning, "Getting Sodas" by The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, and "Ocean of Wisdom" by Gorguts.

Nah it felt like injustice just to have to cut Kalopsia, Keep Your Eyes Peeled and Smooth Sailing off just to keep it a fair list, you can never get enough Queens of the Stone Age.
