Answered your own question there! Seriously though, I haven't started threads on most of the artists/bands I like, I really don't have enough time to be honest! I try to suggest newer things that people may not have heard yet, I thought Leonard Cohen was pretty standard basic listening for anyone who likes music, I didn't realise so few people were interested or had heard his work!

What albums of his have you listened to?

His first three albums are flawless. Essential listening i think. He then went on a steady decline up until I'm Your Man

i think his version of Hallelujah was lame, jeff buckley done it real justice imho

I'm a big fan of Death Of a Ladies' Man, but otherwise I agree his other releases during that time aren't so great.

It's between I'm Your Man, the Future and Songs Of Leonard Cohen when it comes to my favourite.

John Cale was the one that rearranged it, Jeff Buckley basically transposed it to guitar. Not that I don't love JB's version, but he can't get much credit.

Cohen has also recently gone public about being sick and tired of the song. he's done more than write hallelujah.
