John Cale (Velvet Underground) and David Byrne (Talking Heads). They appeared together at the Ocean Club NYC on July 21 1976 as John Cale and Friends. Patti Smith and Chris Speeding were also in the band. Cale assembled the band to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Andy Warhol's Factory during the Bicentennial summer. Cale was very excited about producing the Talking Heads first album but he mentioned the band to Brian Eno and guess who ended up as the producer?

I love these pictures of John Lydon hamming it up with reggae toaster Big Youth and U-Roy, during his visit to Jamaica in 1978. After the breakup of the Sex Pistols, Richard Branson hired Lydon to visit Jamaica to scout out new reggae talent for Virgin Records. Lydon's trip was a public relations coup for Branson's and reggae artists flocked to Virgin Records to record. Lydon was and still is a self professed reggae music addict and he was well loved by the Rastafarian brethren during his stay in Jamaica.
