I was bored at 5am the other night, and compiled this list:

1996: Tool - Ænima

1997: Björk - Homogenic

1998: Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

1999: Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles

2000: Deftones - White Pony

2001: Opeth - Blackwater Park

2002: Biffy Clyro - Blackened Sky

2003: Boris - Akuma no Uta

2004: Joanna Newsom - The Milk Eyed Mender

2005: Gojira - From Mars to Sirius

2006: Placebo - Meds

2007: Alcest - Souvenirs d'un autre Monde

2008: Meshuggah -Obzen

2009: Mono - Hymn to the Immortal Wind

2010: Periphery - Periphery

2011: The Beach Boys - The Smile Sessions

2012: Baroness - Yellow & Green

2013: Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest

What are yours? I wouldn't say this is entirely accurate. It's only albums I can strictly remember the year of. Some of them I simply couldn't decide just one so just chose one at random. Some of them are albums I've heard recently from that year and loved, some are ones which mainly have nostalgic value. But I thought it was an interesting to do, and it's quite an eclectic mix, I think.
