I get what you're saying, I really do, but maybe the music is still exciting and great for them. Why should they stop making music and stem their happiness to please others. Also, does an artists bad albums (albums you don't like) later in their career somehow detract anything from their good material? I don't think it does.

Of-course not, their great albums which I like is the reason I love those bands so much, it's just that it feels like there is no point making more albums but I get what you're saying in the view of the band itself.

Their great albums will stay great and they will stay a great band or an artist, for sure.

where to they (my favorite bands) get their inspiration from? as long as they're having fun and more commin' to the party, not less. Cheers!

I can't answer that question. I only go back to the songs I like and think "Hey, at least they released this which sparked more of my interest in Music". They have the guts to at least continue in an arena where it's tough to get heard and liked, and you have to admit that any listeners' answer is clearly a matter of one's opinion which may not be shared with many others. The Stage and The Recording Studio are the two healthy addictions for any musician or singer, so let them capture that inspiration again and if they don't, at least respect them for giving it a try even if the results are less than expected or trying to keep a career they like alive if the case is more Pop oriented.

A lot of my favorite musicians did return to greatness without anyone expecting it.
