Default Will Tupac be considered classical music after 100 years?

The music we now consider classical used to be pop music during their days. We now imagine them to be dignified but they were often wild concerts. For example, Liszt used to be like the Beatles, girls were crazy about him and people acted like they were attending a metal concert (see Lisztomania).

Do you think after 100-200 years, the Beatles, Tupac, The Ramones, etc. will be considered classical music and people will perform their songs in big halls? Because while I can imagine people sitting down and listening to Pink Floyd songs in big music halls, the idea of people wearing formal outfits and making sophisticated comments while some guys gangsta rap or play punk rock in big orchestra halls amuses me.

Will they be classic artists in relation to their genres? Quite possibly. Will their music be considered classical? No, because classical is an entirely different genre. Liszt's music is classical and always will be, Tupac is not and won't ever be classical music.

Sure, that's true. But will they be treated like classical musicians? You know, like I said, in fancy halls and stuff.

Tupac, classical? What. Why. What.

I'd say historical, not classical.

We can still consider them to be 'wild' in a way. It's not like we're going to drink tea while listening to Elvis. We DO call them classics because they're popular and stay that way for the most part (they never get 'old').
Fair enough, though I don't really hear about Tupac much these days. Always thought he just blew the gangsta lifestyle out of proportion than being an influential artist. I don't think all past old musicians are considered classics depending on age. Classical tends to be basic or breed a new high culture. Tupac just kinda came in the middle.

No, in the strictest sense of the word rap is folk music, in the sense that it came from the streets and bars, it's a music from the "working man". Along with blues, rock, and country, hip-hop will be folded into the "folk" milieu in one or two hundred years. Whereas classical is the music of the educated and upper class. The age of a piece of music doesn't come into the equation-old folk doesn't become classical and new classical isn't folk.
