it was bad though, most of MB agreed that his last album was bad at one point in time.
My point in bringing it up is that it's unfortunate that he went out on such a bad album but it doesn't discredit all of his other work though.

Wtf? How does one allegedly bad album ruin the rest of his work? That's so not appropriate in his death thread.

I think the point is that, in deference to the man's passing, whether you liked his work or didn't (I knew little of it) it's seen as bad taste to start criticising albums and such. Much the same way as you don't go to a funeral and start saying bad things about the deceased, even if you hated his/her guts and everything you say is true. It's just not the done thing.
Bit of respect, no? Why bring up a bad last album when apparently he made so much good music? Maybe you just want to balance the thread out, thinking too many people are saying how great he is, but you know, the guy's passed on, so this is not the thread to be critical of him, is what I think.

It's not like I am mentioning this out of left field to put down someone that has just passed. This is not a funeral. It is thread on an online forum that his family members will most likely never see and even if they did I bet they wouldn't care as much what some random stranger says as you do.

And if you want to use CB/Fluffy's comment as a starting point, all he did was make the comment that it was the first time he had seen everyone be positive about someone's passing. I may be wrong, but I don't think he was saying anyone should be otherwise. You were the first, indeed only one to sound a negative comment, and I just don't see the need. It's almost like you were waiting for something to jump on. It's like you had to be the first/only one to say something negative, either just to be different or to draw attention to yourself, which is something you, and I, both do very well. I just think Lou Reed meant a lot more to people here than he did to me, possibly you I don't know, but I would not see it as my place to start bringing out negative points about him when others here want to pay their respects. No it's not a funeral but it's a death thread and you should really afford it the same level of respect. That's my belief anyway. You can of course do what you like, but don't act all victimised when I call you on it. Now let's just drop it shall we, and let people, for want of a better word, grieve in peace.
