Default Can you recommend other soundtracks like these?

Can anyone recommend other soundtracks or albums that feature music similar to these:

Tron Legacy soundtrack (Daft Punk/Hans Zimmer)
Deus Ex: Revolution video game soundtrack (Michael McCann)

Stuff that is kind of electronic sounding/sci-fi sounding, ambient and ominous and dramatic. Putting these artists into Pandora or Amazon shows other stuff that's not necessarily similar, so I figured some soundtrack experts here could help. Thx.

Get the soundtrack to Cat People it's by Giorgio Moroder.

If you haven't heard the original Tron's soundtrack then get that and also get the soundtrack for Blade Runner.

If you can find the sountrack to Runaway from 1983 by Jerry Goldsmith then snatch it up.

Thank you, although I am looking for something that sounds more modern and less 80s. Too much of that old synth sound in the early 80s.

yeah but that old synth sound is what influenced the two soundtracks that you listed. They even include some of it within them. Give those soundtracks a shot. You might be surprised that you actually enjoy it.

Hmm, I was going to recommend the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon OST, but given your recent comments about synth music I don't think that would be what you're after.

It's been awhile since I've played Deus Ex: Human Revolution and I don't remember the soundtrack standing out too much, but I think you might enjoy the recent Shadowrun Returns soundtrack and the FTL: Faster Than Light soundtrack.

Thank you for latest - was hoping for more up tempo and cinematic. Here are a couple specific examples if you get to the main choruses:

Take out the spaces in http and www - I don't have enough posts to do links yet.

Check out the soundtrack from the game Defiance (also a tv show). It might be what you are looking for.
