Favorite Singer

Whose your favorite singer? If they're not on the poll then oh well?

Miller Bear 06-14-2005 11:21 PM

ozzy...i like black sabbath

SATCHMO 06-14-2005 11:21 PM

Half the people on that list can't even really sing.

Trauma 06-14-2005 11:45 PM

Peripheral baby!
Morrison's a poet more than a singer in my book..
Cornell's made some bad decisions...
So I'm going with Jane's Addiction!
All about the dog song baby...ruff, ruff, naaamean?

musicparle.co.uk 06-15-2005 09:15 AM

thats difficult, but i've narrowed it down to between ozzy osbourne and axl rose....think i'll go with axl

Fenixpunk 06-15-2005 09:18 AM

tough choice for me between ozzy, axl, perry and strummer. I vote Joe Strummer cuz you can understand what he wass saying unlike ozzy and he didnt over do his vocals like axl and perry tend to do.

^I think I would also go with Joe Strummer because even if he didn't have a technically great singing voice he did always sounded like he meant every word that he said, something a lot of todays singers could learn from.

Imonlydancing 06-15-2005 10:33 AM

^ yeah, me too. although if this was best front man, Zac De La Rocha should be on here, and chris cornells not bad.

bohemian 06-15-2005 12:19 PM

Steven Tyler for me.

holdyoualways 06-15-2005 12:30 PM

out of these listed, id have to say axl rose. his voice is just insane. but heres my own list, in no order:
davey havok
chester bennington
adam lazzara
the lead singer of jimmy eat world (i dont know his name, i just think he's an awesome singer. hey...you know what i just realized? the abbrv. of their name is jew. heh...)
andrew mcmahon
kurt cobain

davey havok? afi is pretty ty, i mean they've had their moments (A few good songs on Art of Drowning) but i dont know about davey. Have you heard Son of Sam with Davey and 2 guys from Danzig. If Scott Stapp of Creed got kicked in the balls and sang for Motley Crue during the Too Fast For Love tour, well...that's what Son of Sam sounds like. On some tracks it's almost carbon copied.

Saw him play with the Mescaleros at the Academy, Manchester only months before he died.

Joe Strummer.

Jim Morrison- Because he was and even after passing to the otherside is mysterious.
I like his singing voice best. I'm not a fan of his poetry though, but that's no offence to JM as I don't like poetry anyway. Some might say that some of the best songs ever written are poems. That may be true. Poets should put all their flowery words to a beat that makes you want to dance then poetry would become accessible to even the most ardent rocker/punk/rudeboy/dread/emo/ etc....Dezzy

Rockrollmole 06-16-2005 10:08 AM

Paul Rogers

Big J 06-16-2005 10:50 AM

Scott Weiland during the STP days. Velvet Revolver sucks eggs

coffeeshop 06-16-2005 12:04 PM

It was close between Layne Staley and Robert Plant but I went for Plant.

Sneer 06-16-2005 12:08 PM

Plant. his high pitched style puts axl, cornell and neill to shame.
joe strummer close second. great execution of the lyrics.

SATCHMO 06-16-2005 12:11 PM

Axyl Rose sounds like a cat being tortured.

EDGE 06-20-2005 05:19 PM

I just said Chris Cornell.

I'm a sucker for SoundGarden.
