Personally I would take the little purple fucker over MJ any day of the year. I didn't personally care for MJ even in his zenith.
Just speaking for myself, with no disrespect at all for MJ or his fans. |

That poster brought up their training in classical vocals so their opinion could seem more intelligent. This conversation has NOTHING to do with classical music or classical vocals. So why is it relevant that he has classical vocal training when we are talking about Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake? Why do I need to know that? He brought that up to justify his opinion which is why I feel he said that to make his opinion seem superior. I know alot of musicians who are very snobbish because they feel since they are musicians or took a music history class they have better music perspectives and I disagree. Having music education can make one more knowledgable in articulating certain aspects of music but that doesnt mean that their opinion is FACT especially if its based on subjective reasonings. I know people who are not musicians or trained in music and they have really insightful music perspectives because of the wide range of music they listen too. In other words, you can still be trained in music and still make irrational opinions. I think it depends on the person in how they used their training or exposure to different kinds of music. I thought GuitarBiz made an EXCELLENT post (musician or not). |

Im cool with that lol Prince is AMAZING!! He is one of my favorite artists. However, there are some areas even MJ beats Prince in (talent wise) but if that is your preference I can dig it |

Do you agree though that someone who has a college degree for instance in classical music is probably more qualified to speak on the subject of classical music because of that degree or training? Or someone who has studied and played guitar for years opinion on a guitar matter over the moajority of people who have no real experience with the instrument?
