You do realize they are just a supergroup. RHCP, Cream, and Coldplay,....

I'm with Ki on Smashing Pumpkins. I didn't like them back when they were a not very well known band with one album that my brother was trying to sell me on. Didn't like them when they were a super popular band during my late high school and early college years. Didn't like them after years had passed and I might have been nostalgic. I've enjoyed two or three of their songs, but overall they bore the hell out of me.

On the subject of bands that bore the hell out of me, here's another: The Grateful Dead. I've tried, I really have. I've a had a lot of friends who were really into them, have listened to tons of their music and it just does nothing for me. I don't find it trippy or transportive at all, it just sounds like really, really long, dull country music to me.

Neutral Milk Hotel. Not popular in the commercial sense but this band was all I ever heard about on this forum a couple of years ago. Never got into them.

Two more that I can't get into - Phish and Wilco. They're not that great to me.

If Smashing Pumpkins were peculiar sounding I'd be more likely to enjoy them. My problem with them is I find them pretty uninteresting.

They're bland. Radio fodder, pretty much.
