also just bought a great book on the 60s Ye Ye scene

lots of Ride, Primal Scream, Teenage Fanclub, MBV and LOTS of Swervedriver...esp Mezcal head

its like i'm 17 again
You might want to get hold of this if you've not read it...

Very very detailed, in fact I think it's about 900 pages long. The stuff about the early Mary Chain gigs were my favourite bits.

Incidentally what was the Ye Ye book you bought?

man the cover of that book is almost exactly what i think of when i think about Alan McGee

also thanks for the heads up....ordered it and its on its way

the book i got is called Yé-Yé Girls of '60s French Pop by Jean-Emmanuel Deluxe

i was really expecting more of a picture book....at least based on this commercial.....turns of to be a very well written history

with a shit ton of super groovy pictures

Lately ive been into rap but not traditional rap, more like funny rap gimmicks like Zack Sherwin does or Epic lloyd cause i like rap and hip hop but i don't like how almost every song is about bragging and trying to be the man or wthvr, i mean i like that to some extent but i also like when they don't take themselves too seriously or when they rap about unusual subjects like:

Though it's a comedy gimmick his wordplay is well crafted and i like he doesn't try to be tough or needs to curse to be entertaining.
