Totally agree about the guitarist... I'm a hopeless sucker for good guitar... A trait likely due to the arrested development of that part of my brain which refuses to let go of the 90's If you like DSO, check out Circus Contraptions. I don't know how often you get in touch with your "carnie side," but I posted a good one of theirs in my Burlesque thread (jazz forum). Their stuff is kind of "novelty" in nature, but it doesn't pretend to be otherwise, and is still very enjoyable. |

Fave era? Their first 3 albums are the best IMO.

Well, I guess the newest band that I'm into is Greek Fire. I do have to say that I haven't gotten tired of bands like A7x, Linkin Park or Social Distortion, even though I discovered them more than 10 years ago.

I've recently gotten into Thank You Scientist. I discovered them after they got pretty well promoted by another band I'm into (Coheed & Cambria), and I've fallen in love since.
They're a wonderful blend of poppy, groovy hooks with complex prog rock movements. I highly recommend their album Maps of Non-Existent Places. |
