The Monthly Mixtape
 

With Rez resurrecting the weekly mixtape thread I thought it would be a good idea to resurrect this thread, because I quite enjoyed running it.

Basically it's the same idea except with a few key differences. These mixes are themed which will be voted on by members, and the song you submit will have to fit into the theme in some way (it's music so it's open to interpretation). Then after the mix has been assembled we have a guessing round to see if we can figure out who submitted what track.

Would this be something you'd be interested in?

I figured it might help if I posted an example.

Definitely subscribing and contributing where I can! Good to see some awesome threads coming back to life!

Sounds great Pete. I had an idea for the other thread actually that would work well here too. Maybe if we voted on who had the best song and the winner chooses the theme. That way it would encourage people to join and pick good songs others would enjoy.

If enough people get on board by the end of August we can start off the project with a mixtape for the end of September.

What about around-the-world? Everyone submit a track from a different country (not necessarily yours), make it a cosmopolitan mix? Hey don't shoot me! I'm just thinkin' out loud here! :shycouch:

Lol. No I don't think a colors theme has been done. Also my best suggestion was the chinese zodiac one :p.

I do like TH's world theme though.

Any suggestion is going to get put in the polls, the one with the most votes during the voting period will the that month's theme, and you will be able to vote for multiple themes.

I like all these ideas, especially the "Around The World" theme. Maybe mix it up by saying we can use bands that aren't necessarily based in another country, but use lyrics that are from another country? For instance, I know of an American band that uses various African languages in some of their music.
