Paul McCartney's Forgotten Protest Song
An article looking at how Paul McCartney caused controversy in the aftermath of Bloody Sunday, in Northern Ireland, in 1972 with his Wings song 'Give Ireland Back to the Irish'. The song criticised British presence in Ireland and was banned in the UK, though it still reached number 16 in the charts, did well in America and was a number 1 in Republic of Ireland and Spain.
UNFORTUNATELY IT'S NOT ALLOWING ME TO POST THE LINK TO THE ARTICLE HERE, SO I'VE HAD TO PUT THE LINK IN THE 'TAGS' SECTION BELOW. PLEASE FIND IT THERE. Cheers. |
