Goal
The goal of this thread will be to get everyone involved with other music forum members that they might not typically run into. I will lay this out as simply as I possible can, but keep in mind some rules will be in place in order to keep the music flowing and the minds blowing. This thread will be in place so we can discuss the music each other has submitted, and comment on what we liked, didnt like. I will put a list each week of who submitted what tracks.

Rules
> Each member will be allowed one song entry.
> Song must be submitted with proper tags/label via PM to Dr. Rez. (Song name and Artist in filename Please title PM: Mixtape Submission)
> No genre or time period limitations...anything is fair game including something you created.
> Time limit will be set to 15 minutes. If you have something that is close and you really want on mixtape Pm me and we will discuss it.
> Deadline for submitting tracks will be every Wednesday at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time. Mixtape will be posted by the following night.

Help
If help is needed uploading or tagging feel free to Pm me with questions or ask in this thread, someone will help you out. Below I will list two file upload sites in which you can upload your song. They will allow you to label the file so I know what it is. The final download link you are given is what you will Pm me.

Themes: It can be anything with lyrics/title/subject matter involving some kind of protest. For instance anything by Rage Against the Machine would work in this first week with the Protest theme. I want to keep the themes as loose as possible.

How the hell do you upload an MP3 file to a forum anyway?

Did you read the help section I typed up?

Yeah, still don't get it. Explain it as you would to an autistic three year old.

It is simple. You find a song you like that you have on your computer, then you upload it to a filehosting site (I gave some easy free ones in help section) making sure it is tagged so I know what the Song title and Artist is. Then simply PM me with the link to download it.

Or alternatively I'll just download The Best of Manowar & you can tell me which song to send to Rezz.

I think "Up Your Ass and Around the Corner" would suffice.

5 submissions so far. Keep them coming. I was also thinking that after they are all in and released we could put up a poll in which we vote for a favorite submission, whomever wins can pick a theme for the next week.

Let me know if you think that is a good idea.

Also I'd like to offer setting up a Spotify playlist for this. If that sounds cool, just PM me a list of songs once everybody's in and I'll send you a link to it. Let me know.

No theme for the first one, I wanted to make it easy to get this thing rolling. After this weeks voting though I think we will have the winner chose whatever he.she wants.

That would be really cool, I will actually post the playlist on the first post with everything labeled when the deadline hits.

Well i did not expect this much of a turnout. Not one day in and I have 13 submissions already. I may have to make this bi-weekly if it continues at this rate.

Done. I'll get one together once the list is posted. If a particular song happens to not be on Spotify, I'll just have to leave it out, sadly. They have most of what I like to listen to, though, so this will probably be rare.

Is it possible to set up a drop box folder where we can just send the files straight to you?

Is there a preference for file types? I'm not sure what the go is these days and half of my music is mp3 and the other half is m4a...

Definitly mp3. M4a is a poverty apple file.

I think once you introduce themes, things will slow down a bit. xD But for the first week...extra long mixtape? :D

It will be a 2 parter this week. I have around 18 songs right now.

lol, okay, this I will do. I used to be a poverty apple person until I recently switched to PC.

Hopefully everyone is ok with this being a 2 part mixtape, possibly 3. I have slow internet and my upload is limited so I will keep each part to 10 songs. Since I almost have 20 submissions I will release the first 10 I received today. I will make a new post and update the first post so the download link will be on both as well as the tracklisting/usernames. Will be about 10-15minutes and the first will be up. Thnks everyone for the overwhelming response! To those that subbmitted and are not on this one do not worry you will be on the next one released in a few days.
