The thing about the MB mix tapes thing is it works better when it's NOT a regular thing.
You can re-launch it but you'll always find interest tailing off after a few weeks.

You'd be much better off only doing one say every 4-6 months like it was when it started.

You could very well be right Urban, but I'm just giving it a go at trying to resurrect the idea. If it doesn't work no biggie, I'll move on. It's not as if I haven't enough to keep me going as it is.

Let's see how the themed one works and then I might try doing that. Fact is, a lot of people just won't bother whether there's a theme or not, so better to identify those who are prepared to participate (be it with or without a theme) and then if we end up with a sort of core of regulars (assuming it doesn't fold after the first one) I may ask them how they want me to proceed.

Guys, I have three tracks received. THREE! Tomorrow is the deadline (at the moment) so unless I get a few more I'll either extend it, kill the theme idea or just drop this altogether. I'm not getting much support and I can see why Rezz got pissed off.

You want it, you need to contribute. You don't, I'm fine with that. You would not believe the mountain of work I have. I definitely don't need to be spending time on this if nobody's interested though I would like to try to get it going again. Nevertheless I'm not going to be flogging a dead horse so please, if you want this to work, send in your songs by tomorrow.

If some of you think you would contribute were there not a theme, let me know and maybe as rostasi says we can ditch the theme. But there's no point in my doing that if even after that nobody bothers to participate. So let me know how yaz feel: do I try one more time or just give this up?

hmmm....i actually find it weird that it was rostasi that suggested dropping it....he always came up with uber creative tracks

personally i like both....the theme can be a bit hard but never impossible...but i also dig the idea of just hearing what everybody is into at that moment

My internet is capped (thanks Australia) so I'll be pushing it to upload something in time Sorry guys. But if this continues into the future, even a non-themed one or a less frequent one, I am still keen to participate.

Trollheart did you get the one I sent you? I sent it like an hour after you advised me on proper format and I believe the upload service only keeps it up for 24 hours. Let me know if I need to redo.

I must admit I got it but didn't have time to download it sorry. I didn't realise there was a time limit on how long the service kept it. I'd suggest using maybe Zippyshare next time; I don't think they have a limit.

If you wouldn't mind resending I'll download it right away.

Okay guys I have now four tracks plus mine which makes five. I know I said that was the minimum, and thanks to those who sent them but really this is a poor response at best.

I'm going to try one more thing. I'll allow any tracks, regardless of theme, and will extend the deadline to Monday. After that, depending on how many more (if any) tracks I have, I'll either publish the tape or give it up. I'm not doing it with four.

So if you want to send your favourite or weirdest song go ahead. There is no theme now. Also, those who sent tracks if you wish you can now replace them with a non-themed one, or leave the ones we have as they are. I don't mind.

But I want a new minimum of ten tracks or I won't be putting together any mixtape at all and this thread will just have to die, unless someone else wants to try taking it on. I'm doing my best to keep it alive, just need some help from you guys.

So, the floor is open: send me your non-themed, non-genre-restricted songs!

And please everyone use Zippyshare Zippyshare.com - Free File Hosting; some of the hosters out there have me jumping through hoops just to download one file. I'd rather standardise it so please all use the one hoster. Thanks.
