It's probably also a lot easier that way! Took me 30 minutes to download this playlist because my Internet sucks

1. Mondo Bungle: Ryan Harvey - Gentrification

Not bad. Fairly simple, just a girl and her guitar.

2. Plankton: John Lennon - Working Class Hero

This is K|S|P Project covering John Lennon. It's a side project I was in where we played a few coffee shops, and this was recorded in one take with one mic. I like the eerie-ness of it, and Kim and Sue have great harmonies. You can probably guess what I'm playing.

3. rostasi: R.E.M. - Welcome To The Occupation

Although I like the REM, I never went out of my way to listen to them. This was just about par for the course.

4. Trollheart: William Shatner - I Can't Get Behind That

This was hilarious, and serious at the same time. I like his sense of humor, especially when the jokes' on him, and he knows it. Narcisistically funny.

5. wolverinewolfweiselpigeon: Wingnut Dishwashers Union - **** Every Cop (Who Ever Did His Job)

Punk Ska? I liked it.

6. Pedestrian: Knife - Stay Out Here

A bit too industrial tech for my tastes but an interesting listen just the same.

7. bob.: Blood Axis - The Hangman and the Papist

Bard type, with strong lyrics but not my thing.

8. FrownLand: Frank Zappa - Who Are The Brain Police

Have always had a love/hate relationship with the Zap man. He was surely an innovator, but I can only take so much of his stuff for so long. I know if I listened to this over and over, I'd most likely go insane... just a little bit.

Little Green Men.

9. djchameleon: Dead Prez (ft. Divine) - Malcolm, Garvey & Huey

These kind of beats are always quite interesting to me. I'd like to meet the person behind that and see what his thoughts were when he made it. I mean I've heard tons of killer mixes that I'd like to **** with on guitar. Not a big fan of the Rap, but appreciate it.

10. Rezdaddy Longlegs: Deltron 3030 - 3030

See above.

11. Deviouz: Santogold - Shuv It (feat. Three 6 Mafia & Project Pat)

Sorry no bling here, but good production.

12. Yac: Wax Audio - Sad But Superstitious (Metallica/Steve Wonder Mashup)

Brilliant! Love the mashups! Check out Kung Foo Fighting/Sweet Child O Mine.

13. Duga: Chthonic - Bloody Gaya Fulfilled

Comes in like a banshee... I heard Chtonic before, and although the artists are extremely talented, it's just a bit too sterile. I like a little mud and dirt in my ears.

Not a bad mix all together though! Keep em goin Rez!

Okay then, here we go with mixtape two....

Quote:
1. Mondo Bungle: Ryan Harvey - Gentrification
Good bit of protest folk. Like this although the guy sounds a little effeminate; nothing wrong with that, but if I had heard this on the radio I might have thought it was a woman singing. Quite a Dylan vibe to it really. Also a much slower and less frenetic Barry McGuire...

Quote:
2. Plankton: John Lennon - Working Class Hero
I know this song, who doesn't? Ah what can you say? Lennon at his best.
EDIT: Did not know this was my man Plankton! Great job guys!

Quote:
3. rostasi: R.E.M. - Welcome To The Occupation
Like the basic melody in this. Probably like most REM songs though other than "Shiny happy people"...

Quote:
4. Trollheart: William Shatner - I Can't Get Behind That
Mine, so I'll skip it, but interested in opinions. And yes that is Black Flag's Henry Rollins!

Quote:
5. wolverinewolfweiselpigeon: Wingnut Dishwashers Union - **** Every Cop (Who Ever Did His Job)
Meh, not bad but I don't think I'll be searching out their albums any time soon.

Quote:
6. Pedestrian: Knife - Stay Out Here
Don't like this at all and I ain't sittin' through ten minutes of it, sorry.

Quote:
7. bob.: Blood Axis - The Hangman and the Papist
Very Cave vibe to this, like it. The tale-telling aspect is great, the military drums, the violin. Just great. And the almost unemotional vocal delivery, the true narrator who will not be drawn in or emotionally invested.
Quote:
8. FrownLand: Frank Zappa - Who Are The Brain Police
Never heard any Zappa before, and this doesn't impress me or encourage me to listen to any more. Yes I know: I'm a heretic!

Quote:
9. djchameleon: Dead Prez (ft. Divine) - Malcolm, Garvey & Huey
More hip hop. Less interest.

Quote:
10. Rezdaddy Longlegs: Deltron 3030 - 3030
More rap/hip-hop. Pass. Sorry.

Quote:
11. Deviouz: Santogold - Shuv It (feat. Three 6 Mafia & Project Pat)
And more. Oh dear.

Quote:
12. Yac: Wax Audio - Sad But Superstitious (Metallica/Steve Wonder Mashup)
Like this a lot. Great mix of styles. Funny but also very listenable. All it's missing is a growly death vocal going "Very superstitious!" This and bob's are my favourite in this mix. Unless duga's is amazing...

Quote:
13. Duga: Chthonic - Bloody Gaya Fulfilled
Nah. Great music but guess what? Yeah, I hate the vocals!

So bit of a loss as far as I'm concerned. Two or three good tracks, not counting mine, and the rest just didn't do it for me. Apologies to anyone who feels their track was slighted; not intended, but hey ya gotta be honest, and most of the stuff here just didn't move me in any direction other than the "fast forward" key...

What happens on the off chance that you submit the same song as someone else? Just wondering because I was going to submit Working Class Hero but forgot.

The whole thing will shut down. Whomever submits the second version of the same song will be revealed to the general public and a stoning shall commence.

But seriously, we will cross that bridge when we get there. I suppose whomever sent the PM first can use it.

Or you could include both names as the one submission.

Thank you. I'm not even going to try and pretend I'm not just a crazy cat lady anymore.
