Default Stevie Wonder Boycotts Florida Performances, Others Follow

Jay Z, Kanye, Madonna Join Stevie Wonder's Florida Boycott In Wake Of Zimmerman Verdict (REPORT, UPDATES)

Read it and cheer?

I heard it on the radio this morning and then Hermione mentioned it to me in conversation! I had to post about it!

And it seems that it's actually all states that have the "Stand Your Ground" law. How nice it is to be in NY!

many of my faves are on the boycott list, I'm glad.

Like I said earlier in our conversation, though, there's apparently a huge club in Miami and people are doubting that celebs will stay away from performing or at least going there. I don't know what to think but this is still a great statement to make.

Most of my faves are dead/broken up bandwise or I wouldn't pay $200 for tickets to some other faves but yeah, it is really awesome.

IDK most of these celebs seem genuine except for Madonna, she's the only one who'll give me pause b/c of her whole Malawi adoption bull****

What's the betting that Iggy Azalea tries to jump on the bandwagon?

She so blatantly doesn't care about anyone but herself. I doubt she would. but if she does, it'll be for publicity just as much as Zimmerman "saving" that family.

And with Madonna, she definitely does have the "white saviour" complex that so many celebs are plagued with. Either way, it makes a statement. The bigger the group, the better. I know it's important that the celebs are actually on board with the cause, but even if it's for media, it's drawing negative attn. to Florida and the "Stand Your Ground" law. So in this case, it might not be so bad.

She cares about white people though, don't forget that!

I read some of the updates to that article and I'm really curious out of the people listed who is really going to stick to this boycott or not. We will see in time.

have you been boycotting Florida produced items in your everyday life?

I notice that I've been looking at the labels more to see if what I'm buying comes from Florida and depending on the product I won't buy it.

I'm only like half assed boycotting lol. If it's something I really want....I just end up getting it anyways but I have put back a few items.

I don't think me doing it will make a statement, but I can try. ;P

I'm always boycotting something, I feel like.
