The Drones - I See Seaweed "I See Seaweed" is the new album by the australian punk-blues group "The Drones" This album is incredibly intense, loud, but also has some softer moments between all of that loudness. While not being the most revolutionary album, this dramatic ocean themed album is so passionate, and succeeds in everything it does so well, that it certainly worth your time to check it out. |

My Bloody Valentine - MBV 22 years after the mythic shoegaze band "My Bloody Valentine" have released their classic "Loveless", MBV comes out of no-where, when everyone thought we will never see another My Bloody Valentine release. If MBV proves anything, is that my bloody valentine are still relevant and while not being the fundamental classic Loveless is, it is an excellent release. The dreamy and beautiful atmosphere of MBV is quite incredible, and may mold into your heart if youll give it a try. |

James Holden - The Inheritors Hailing from UK, James Holden's new album "The Inheritors" is an incredible achievement. This electronic album contains materfully-crafted sounds that just like the album cover, feel old and tribal but also futuristic in a way. As if aliens with superior technology visit the old ancient earth. With thick atmosphere and beautiful production, this album is, at least in my opinion, one of the best releases this year. |

Deafheaven - Sunbather In my honest opinion, one of the best things happened in metal for quite a while. This album combines elements from post rock, screamo, and black metal, creating beautiful landscapes with both of its louder and softer moments. This album is passionate, its beautiful, and it succeeds at everything it tries to do. certainly worth your time to check it out. |

Boards Of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest It's been several years since the mythic IDM group "Boards Of Canada" have released a new album. along with MBV, this album is one of the most hyped comeback albums of this year. Instead of going with the warm-nostalgic approach the duo have been taking in their previous efforts, Tomorrow's Harvest is much colder, even apocalyptic - and it excels at what it does. Even though Tomorrow's Harvest is not the greatest thing Boards Of Canada have done, it is an excellent release and a welcomed addition to their catalogue of mesmerizing electronic sounds. If you enjoyed Boards Of Canada's previous efforts or IDM in general, this album is a must check out. |

Is this list in descending order, yeah? I'm going to have to check out the BoC album, just so far behind in what I want to listen to. Is it similar to Music has the Right to Children? Nice list however would prefer a little variety, it's all a bit hipster thus far.
Can I also hop on what Pete's saying and predict that we see Laura Stevenson and Kurt Vile enter 1 and 2 |

My thoughts exactly pretty much. I mean, nobody is ever going to accuse my AOTY list of 2013 so far of being particularly obscure or completely out of the box, but there've been assloads of great albums this year in pretty much every genre under the sun: go explore a little bit for God's sake rofl!
