Smile Cheap ($50) vs Expensive ($200) earphones

Hey all! I've been mulling over whether it would be wise to change my current sennheiser cx 200 street ii earphones for a pair of Shure SE215. Would i really hear such a significant difference between the both of them? Also, would burning in my earphones significantly improve its performance?

Thanks in advance for your help guys!

You get what you pay for. Check out Head-Fi.org these guys spend thousands on equipment and review them for themselves.

Headphones > earphones though imo.

You're talking about ear-bud style headphones, right?

I'm not sure about Shure's products (no pun intended), but SE215 has high grades for sound quality. By the way you can probably find the SE215 at a much lower price than $200 on the internet. I'm seeing a prices at between $99 and $120.

PC Magazine has made the Shure SE215 the Editor's Choice for medium price range headphones.

I think high quality headphones make a huge difference in sound quality and it's the cheapest way to upgrade the quality of your digital music.

If you want to spend money on a good pair of earphones,it would be best that your music files are in high quality.
Usually the better the earphones the worse poor quality recordings will sound on them.
For 200 dollars you have quite a few choices,I would advise you to shop around and listen to different brands before making the investment.

Very good point. If your files are under 295 klbs, high quality headphones will simply magnify the bad quality of the recordings.

Once people realise they wasted their money you'll be the envy of your friends.
