Default The First Song You Ever Heard

Thread is self exclamatory and maybe, just maybe this signaled the start of your favorite music genre throughout the rest of your life.
The first song I remember hearing was I Heard It Through The Grapevine. I was about 3 yrs old and absolutely loved it when it came on the radio and requested Dad get the record out and play it.
I never actually took the time to find out who sang it. Is it who I think it is? Surprise me.

There were a few versions but I imagine it was either Marvin Gaye or Creedence Clearwater Revival.

How did you know they were raisins if it was on the radio?

Haven't you ever heard of the California Singing Raisins?

It was always the same version, and I recognize now, the lead singer, as Marvin. Bc they made commercials of that song and I asked my dad who sang it once and he said a bunch of raisins did. I really believed raisin men were walking around singing and talking.

I heard many songs before this, I'm sure, and my dad would play this comedian's record which consisted of some songs. But the first song I remember noticing and liking as a kid was "We Are the World". I think it was the first time I took an interest in music.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
