Your favorite two-man band?
Mine will forever be Local H seeing as how they are my favorite band :D
They always put on the best high-energy shows. I also love The Black Keys with a passion they put on some great shows as well! |
Hmmm... depends what you mean. Do they count as a two man band if there are two official members, but they are a larger band when they tour?

First that comes to mind for me would be Pinback. They are officially a two-man band but have a touring drummer, sometimes maybe a second guitarist...maybe not. |
John Martyn and Danny Thompson were frigging amazing but not officially a band.
Japandroids are decent. Just waiting for every one and his dog to drag up White Stripes. |

Does it count if they're not men?
|
The Dresden Dolls and The Kills
Oh yeah and Tenacious D counts also. |
|
Couple great two women bands.
Freakwater Mr. Airplane Man |
nice call on Alien Sex Fiend :)
the first band that came to mind was Babyland seeing them live was absolutely mind blowing (and ear drum blowing).....i realize this is primarily samples and percussion....but there is still so much going on there for just two people OM not too shabby for just bass and drums.....and again....live it was like there was an orchestra on the stage but i would have to say my favorite two man band is by far Rome i won't lie....neofolk is a pretty easy genre....but i've always felt that this band blends in industrial really well |
After some more thought, I might have to go with Simon & Garfunkel.
|
These guys...
http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/...psf5d6565d.jpg I strongly recommend this album for anyone who likes their music over the top and off the cliff. A real mind bender! Worth it just for the title track and their version of 'Jack of Diamonds' |
Probably Simon & Garfunkel...but wait. Isn't Neu! a two-man band, at least at first?
|
Although all three are metal bands and technically one of them is now three members:
Dornenreich Solefald Klabautamann Also add to that CocoRosie if you want to consider them a two person project. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2 |

I have plenty, Daft Punk, Crystal Castles, The Ting Tings...
|
Too many to be honest. Ones that jump out at me are Japandroids, No Age, Daft Punk, The White Stripes, The Evens, Death From Above 1979.
|
Does Ween count? |

Wham or Tears for Fears, but of course they had a ton of backing musicians. I rarely like music that doesn't contain several instruments.

That's how Solefald is (Cornelius Jakhelln - vocals, guitars, bass; Lazare Nedland - vocals, keyboards, drums). Anaal Nathrakh is the same way, they only use session members to play live. Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2 |
The choice is obvious; Tiny Hawks.
|
The Chemical Brothers
The Chemical Brothers :)
|
I'll give Iron Lung a mention. Ween's awesome too.
|
Daryl Hall n Oates, I guess...

I saw a band live called Tweak Bird at the Melvins Lite show and they have an album called "Undercover Crops" so they get a mention. their show was good too though. |
|
Death From Above 1979 have always held a very special place in my heart, I really wish they had lasted more than just one LP though
|
Yes I'm serious
|
Honchey and Chess
They're amazing |
