How Well Would You Say That Other People Know Your Taste In Music?
I'd say a lot of people only know bits of it. A couple of my friends think I only listen to emo and screamo, my parents know that I like classic rock, one of my friends know that I like punk, one views me as a metalhead, one knows that I listen to some garage rock revival bands, and one friend shares my interest in both power metal and power pop. I'm not sure if any of them knows the whole picture, though. Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? My mother, or my very best friend, probably. Are you know for being really into music? Yes. Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? Not really, I tend to jump from one thing to another. Queen has stayed for a couple of years, though.

Everyone I know will have some idea that I listen to all sorts of random shit. Even my friends on XBOX live tell me I listen to music for people with a disorder of some kind (depressing music or whatever). Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? Do you mean "know" as in they listen to the same music, or they know what I listen to the most? My best friend either way. Are you know for being really into music? Yeah. Always the one being asked to play a song/recommend a band to people. Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? I dunno. I obviously love The Fall, but I don't think I have listened to all of their albums. Probably The Stone Roses comes close. Then newer artists like Death Grips I suppose. I think it's hard to consider yourself an aficionado of a genre though. There's far too much music that people cannot have heard. But obviously Hip Hop would be closest for me.

How Well Would You Say That Other People Know Your Taste In Music?
It's easy for people to just assume that I like anything top 40/mainstream. I'm really open minded and listen to a lot of stuff that others would consider trash. So most people may know a few things I like on the surface but not some of the other things that I listen to from my cd collection. Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? I can't say one person that does, my friends each have certain areas/genres that we agree upon but they are just parts of my total taste and not the whole thing. Are you known for being really into music? Yes, mostly because wearing my mp3 player almost everywhere I go. Along with me not shutting up about certain new gems that I find and wanting to share it. Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? No, I wouldn't say I'm confident enough to make that claim even though I may be.

How Well Would You Say That Other People Know Your Taste In Music?
On a general level, people who sorta know me just know I'm crazy about music, but friends and family know that I listen to nearly everything. Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? Probably my brother, as he has to get rides from me in the car and I talk to him more than others about useless music trivia, haha! Are you know for being really into music? Yes very much so, people think I spend WAY too much money on CDs and vinyls. Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? Hm, I don't want to seem like a braggart, but I like to think of myself as a Smashing Pumpkins aficionado, a Manic Street Preachers aficionado, and a Wu-Tang aficionado, but I don't think there's any genre that I could call myself an aficionado in. (genres are simply too all-encompassing) |

To be honest not too much, most of my friends aren't as into music and most of the ones that are are kind of more into certain types from older times than some of the newer contemporary stuff. Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? probably my friends Scott and Charles, although Scott knows alot of the stuff I listen to more these days where Charles knows about alot of the stuff I was really into(still into it to an extent) from high school. That and I've been hanging with Scott more recently so we share more stuff Are you know for being really into music? I suppose, but it's not something I really push on other people. If something about a band/artist comes up in conversation I can usually have a few things to say about it, but I don't really brag about it or just try to project all the stuff I'm into. Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? I guess Rock/Metal, but these days I'm much more into Hip-Hop/Electronic music

Not very well. I get that my friends know I'm not in top 40 music and they know I like DnB and dubstep but that's about all. My highschool guy mates know I love Prog, Rock and Alternate artists but nothing too specific beyond Iron Maiden, Tool and Judas Priest. Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? My friend Tim is the closest to knowing my music taste and on MB it's Urban and Jackhammer. I think people on here tend to think I just like mainstream artists but actually I listen to many artists that aren't popular or well known. It's probably my own fault for not updating my journal very often to give more of an insight but I'm currently working on a entry now to get more of my interests out there. Are you know for being really into music? Yes, I'm often spamming my facebook page to get my friends to expand their music tastes and constantly have my bright pink headphones attached to my ears. I've been to a few festivals and concerts as well so people generally notice I love music. Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? Hmmm...I'd say I'm pretty knowledgable about Trance and Dubstep but I'm not one of those people that know great details about bands because I have a habit of knowing albums really well rather than the bands history.

How Well Would You Say That Other People Know Your Taste In Music?
It seriously depends. My best friends know the wide scope that I subjected them to, others just some of the parts I know they're interested in knowing about. Sometimes I can find a common ground, even if it's in the Mainstream, and take the discussion from there. It's really knowing where to take the conversation. When it concerns the Internet, some people that I converse with know of my range. Some only know what I write about the most. Who is the person or persons that know about all/mostly all of your taste in music? Any answer to that question is not here, as I have friends that date back to The 80's who are the answers to that one. Around here: It's cool that some can converse with me about some of my favorite Classic Rock interests which seriously connect to Garage Punk and it's also great that bob. connects with my interest in the Late 80's Early 90's world of people of Current 93 and the artists that surrounded them through that time - I may show more of that side, though. I'm more than a Garage/Mod/Beat/Proto-Punk/Early Punk/80's Pop kind of person which most people know me for. Are you known for being really into music? Yes! Do you consider yourself an aficionado on any band or genre? You could say that I'm well versed in Garage Punk and 70's Punk, but that's due to the extensive research I did through the years. 80's "New Pop" is also another corner I can say I'm pretty into due to the memories that it brings me today and that I can write about them - I'm pretty much at an age where I can go into era-specific writing without sounding like I was not there or was too young to fully understand. I can even go somewhat Gothic, and also had a time with Industrial through the Early 90's, but I know that I'm not as totally in the know as those who seriously connected with that music back then. I was even slightly connected with the British music of The 90's, where a lot of my reading went into. For right now, though, I tend to go back into my past for Blogging reasons, although I sometimes keep up with the odd occasional happening. |

My best friend of many years (our friendship began several decades ago) know about some of my musical tastes. He knows very well that I am a *big* fan of Blue Öyster Cult.
He himself has for a long time been just as big a fan of Uriah Heep. I never understood what he saw in Uriah Heep´s music which he thought was so great. Well, to each their own. |
