Default Best Album of the 00's

It may not have been the best decade for music but it will be interesting to gather people's opinions on what was the finest album in the 'noughties'

Only one choice really. The Arctic Monkey's debut. A fantastic piece of music that summed up my young adolescent life. Great album and still feels fresh as anything today. Marvellous!

The options in this poll seem pretty rock-centric for something in the general music forum. Are you looking for best album in general, or just best rock album?

What a sh*te decade. But I think Yankee Foxtrot Hotel by Wilco overall is the best of the decade.

Surely you're missing a Kanye album there. My vote goes to Graduation, but Late Registration and Dropout are just as good.

Also, big ups to Kasabian self titled. Some absolute stormers on there.

Viva La Vida by Coldplay is a masterpiece of an album. Only one bad song on the album (the most famous one).

Fever To Tell By the Yeah Yeah yeahs.

But these albums have regularly been voted as the finest of the decade? I have read your '25 albums' list and it seems like you have gone for obscurity over quality. I am not sure if you have done this intentionally but none of them albums you have mentioned would be in my top 50 let alone the top 25.

I respect the Kanye shout. But Kasabian? their best album is the third by a long way. I was going to put A rush of Blood for Coldplay but was trying to please everyone. You know how these work

Is this thread trying to troll or something? A decade combined with assloads of genres and hundreds of new bands a year = no consensus whatsoever.

Er… well, I guess that's why it's my list not yours. But I was asking a serious question about this thread: Are you just looking for rock music as the poll implies? Or are you open to anything? I ask because a lot of the best albums of the 00s, in many people's opinion, are not rock albums.

I can already tell that "Any Other" is definitely going to win this thread based on that selection chosen.
