I like his voice. It's like a sexy tentacle worming my way inside my ear canal, pleasuring my auditory senses.

i can't stand most metal. i used to like it as a teen, but somehow grew out of it. there's a few bands i still dig, but i'm generally totally closed-minded about it. it just seems ridiculous to me. it offends my ears. i certainly can listen to it if i have to, but it becomes an exercise of dissecting motifs and tempo rather than something immersive. it's kinda like watching a boxing match or something. i just don't hear music when i listen to most of it.
also, people like justin bieber drive me nuts. i can't stand that sh*t. most young pop stars have that effect on me, really. i think it's the grooming which goes into making products out of them. it's pretty much a mockery of music. |

I like most kinds of music really. In fact, i could even go so far as to say i like all kinds. Generally though i'm pretty picky when it comes to individual artists or groups within any genre. For instance i just said i cant stand most metal, but Tool is probably my favourite band of all time, and a lot of people call them a metal band. Lately i've been listening to a lot of Joanna Newsom, Howlin' Wolf, Radiohead, CocoRosie, Feist, Ash Grunwald, Ekova, Fela Kuti, and Fiona Apple.
Is epica a band, or a sub-genre of metal? |

I loved that, it reminded me of Captain Beefheart covering Ayler.
I agree with the general consensus of the thread that the common crap pop of the day is the worst music. I can't say which one's THE worst since its been going on for decades and I don't like crap, but usually a market of prepubescent girls usually renders some awful music.
