My favorite has to be the extended solo in The Rocker by Thin Lizzy.

The solo by Randy Rhoads in "Flying High Again." But I'd prefer a thread about the best short solos, since this topic is very broad.

I have way too many favorite solos to name just one, but here goes:
Scorpions' "Longing For Fire" with Uli Jon Roth has 2 very short but melodic solos. This is from the "In Trance" album, before they were hugely popular in the US: Just thought of another: Pink Floyd's "Mother" from The Wall. Probably one of my favorite solo by David Gilmour: Short, sweet, beautiful! |

When my uncle gave this album to me, he told me I should play this song on the stereo in the living room at maximum volume. He certainly had a point.

I don't really have a favourite solo, but this one stands out quite a bit to me. It may not be particularly fast, but it complements the song fantastically. I love the odd intervals that he chooses as well.
