I was a bit skeptical about downloading it at first because if I'm online I usually just listen to what I have on my iTunes library, but after a few weeks of hearing about it I decided to try it out. And it's great! If you have iTunes, it automatically adds your entire library onto your spotify account as well as connecting it to your Facebook (if you have one) so that you can send music to friends or see what they're listening to. One of my friends added a feature called soundrop to his, which is basically a playlist you and your friends can add songs to and listen together at the same time. That's probably the coolest part of it for me because we can vote up which songs to listen to next or put the playlist on shuffle or whatever... Anyways, it's worth checking out at least. I don't have the paid subscription because I don't care about streaming my music through an iPhone or blackberry or whatever and the commercials every few songs are short and don't bother me.
Hope I was able to give you a bit of info. |

Thanks for all the replies, guys n gals! Not one negative comment, so it's got to be a good idea then. I reckon though the premium will do me, as I say it's only a fiver a month and seems to have most of what I need. Putting playlists on phones etc doesn't interest me; if I'm out I listen to my Zen and always albums, usually one I'm considering for review. I don't ever listen to music on a phone. But everything else seems pretty cool so I reckon I will go for it. Well, I don't reckon; I will.
Not so sure about this playlist idea you're floating; how does that work? Would everyone contribute a song/songs or make their own playlists in toto that people can then download, as Goofle has? Maybe we could do both. If a theme is required, might I suggest something simple, like colours to begin? Anyway thanks again for the advice and well I guess I'll see yaz out there!

Do it Trollheart, its worth a fiver of anyones money. You only need to pay a tenner if you want to use Spotify on your phone, if youre just going to use it at home you only need to spend a fiver a month. No long contracts, a month to month thing. There are some bands and artists that arnt on Spotify but you cant have everything can you, and more importantly it makes Grooveshark look like a one legged man in an arse kicking competition.
Treat yourself Trollheart, you deserve it. |

Great! Usually as far as playlists go I just make artist-specific ones or throw together a bunch of random songs I like. Themed playlists sound like a cool idea so I might make a few later..
