This was my mother's favorite song, she used to sing it to me and my siblings when we were little (early-mid 1960's). There are many gorgeous versions of this, my favorite and one I always listen to (and frequently choke up to) is from Over The Rhine

another moment which gives me chills, her voice is so natural: The Carpenters - Close To You check out the live version on youtube, I know she is not exactly Freddy Mercury but still her vocal is so chilled!

The E of Doom after a very quiet opening. Beautiful! Same goes for the rest of the song. One of the perfect endings of all time! "There's no help, no" Also, the instrumental bit where Jim Sullivan plays some wonderful acoustic guitar. |

I saw A Place to Bury Strangers live, and it was all cool and jazz, but when Oliver brought out the strobes during the noise section of "I lived my life to stand in the shadow of your heart" I knew **** was going down. The feeling of noise racing across my body, having both an audio and visual overload, I'd never experienced goosebumps quite like that. Granted APTBS may not have much substance (lyrical or songwriting wise) they make up for it with the live shows 10 fold.
