There's already a website that can do this, it's called Eventful. I don't know if venues look at it or if they are sent to them, but you can request concerts. Just go to the performer's page and click the button that says "demand it."
Link: Paul McCartney Concert Tour Dates and Tickets | Eventful I'm sure that your site could be similar to that or maybe you could find out a way the make the system better, which would be my advice.

That's interesting, thank you for the notice. As far as i can see, they don't focus on music. That might be a plus for my concept. Some other differences: - I also ask the user how much they would potentially pay for the concert ticket, which i think is nice to now for the venues. - Both ordinary users and band-users can add bands. They provide a lot of great demographic information. I want to do that as well, but at the moment there's not enough activity to make that nice looking. I need to make some analysis on how to differentiate. Thanks for the tip! At least it somehow proves that people want to use a concept like this to some degree. |

Yes, i noticed that they have a music "department", but from my point of view, that's not dedicated. Furthermore, i don't see any help in discovering new music, and the site is not providing much media from the artist, which i intend to do. Eventful seems to be focusing on or promoting mainly the most popular bands. I think my concept could be much more appealing to upcming and/or local bands, who will be featured on the frontpage in their areas. You might be right.. but i'm not willing to give up yet I have decided to try crowdfunding at Indiegogo. Considering One Direction is at the top of the list, I hate that website altogether.
The part where you are giving bands a chance to sign up, and see whether or not people want them to come to their town, is where it may have potential. Think positive and wish for the best. |
