Mixed Genres
I don't fit into any clique. I really enjoy EVERY genre. Recently, I've been listening to Classic Country, but I'm not country. I also listen to rap but I don't live or hangout around those type of people. My favorite genre is probably alternative rock. I was just wondering if there's anyone who doesn't belong to a specific genre? Most people I meet just listen to pop music. So tell me what you like.

I think you'll find that most people here don't "belong" to any one genre. To use myself as example, some of my most listened to types of music over the past year include: 60s pop, modern hip hop, post punk, krautrock, dark country, stoner metal, electrohouse, experimental yass, glitch, breakcore, horrorcore, dixieland jazz, trip hop, blues rock, mento, calypso, bebop, modern classical, electroswing, gangsta rap, punk rock, shoegaze, grindcore, powerviolence, 80s pop, flamenco jazz, grunge, thrash, new age, 20s blues, folk, indie, 50s rock 'n roll, reggeaton, industrial, noise rock, psychedelic rock, pop jazz, 90s Mexican pop, funk, instrumental hip hop, swing, grime, dubstep, cybergrind, Chinese classical, free jazz, EBM and IDM.

Might as well be. It stands for "intelligent dance music", which is dumb, but nevertheless it's the name of the genre that includes Aphex Twin, Autechre, Kid 606, Squarepusher, etc.

AH! That makes sense. From what I could infer from p4k references to the genre, it sounded like elite, sensitive folk electronica. Aphex Twin is pretty rad though.

Rock (in general), Alt-Country, Roots, Folk, Jazz (Hard-Bop, Free Jazz, Fusion, Acid Jazz, Modern Jazz), Americana, Cuban Jazz, Spanish music (Mexican), Euro-Pop, etc.
I used to consider myself strictly a rock guy, but then I got bored of it and the difficulty I was having finding new music to enjoy influenced me to explore jazz and then all music in general. If it's good, I don't care what the genre is. The only genres I'm not a huge fan of are techno/club, hardcore rap, smooth jazz, death metal, and vocal-classical (operas, etc). |

Would you call this techno? It is technically electronic.
