Now that was a nice diplomatic exchange of opinions.

As much as I'm a fan of Lupe, he needed to GTFO the stage repeating the same lyrics for 30 mins straight.

He already sparked discussion when Words I Never Said first came out two years ago. He even went on Bill O' Reilly and couldn't handle the factor!

I thought he already learned and moved on especially with lyrics from his last album.

These are the lyrics from ITAL(roses) which was on his last album
"Called the president a terrorist
Corporate sponsors like, how the **** you gon’ embarrass us?
Ain’t my fault, I was just repeatin’ this
Professor Emeritus from America
But my tone was like an Afghani kid without a home
Blew that bitch up with a drone
An Iraqi with no daddy, Palestinian throwing stones
The **** you think they call him, I’mma leave that all alone
Cause this, the focus on this new **** is that hopeless
Place that I was born into systematic brokeness
Took that downpression and developed it to dopeness
It’s that great American rap-rap ferocious"

I think he was probably just upset with whatever is going on that caused him to canceled part two of his album that was supposed to be a double album and released on the same day but Atlantic didn't want to do it like that so they split it up and gave two different release dates.

i don't really know anything at all about lupe fiasco, that might be a good thing in the case of a viewpoint on this being expressed in this thread.

i've now seen two videos of this. i'm not certain as to whether or not this is the inauguration party, or just some random one. judging by the stunt that this guy pulled, i feel i can assume it was the official one, though i don't really understand why he would be allowed to perform at such an event.

to me, i think if this guy wanted to use his pull to make a difference, he could have done it in a far more strategic manner. watching this, i just see a guy who thinks knowing what to be pissed off about makes him hip. he's not actually pissed off.

dave matthews did this same type of thing at the presidential inauguration ball held for clinton... except, he did it classy proper and he was scared as f*ck. he was visibly nervous throughout the performance of the song "too much", which is all about american consumption and global dominance. he was nervous because he didn't want to get caught in his effort to say something of meaning on the sly at such a high-profile event.

lupe looks like he's half-cut and doing this for sh*ts & giggles. this upsets me because it doesn't convey any sense of tact to a people so lost already. "yeah man... i'm gonna repeat the same 20 or 30 words for half an hour and when they escort me off the stage cuz i'm acting like a douche i'm just gonna smile and wave goodbye."

stylin'.

ballsy.

go f*ck yourself, twit.

and again, i have no predisposition regarding lupe fiasco. none whatsoever. well, i didn't before today, anyway.

I don't really think it was something he planned, he was probably just caught up in the moment and decided to do that on the spot.

The guy that decided to invited him should be fired all he had to do was google him and find out how he feels about Obama.

For years, he has been critical of the actions of America in various songs. So I disagree when you say he just thinks being pissed off makes him hip.
