My parents suffer from a severe lack of variety and year by year we always listen to the same stuff when we decorated for Christmas and when we're hanging out with the family on Christmas day.

The O Brother Where Art Thou Soundtrack always came up.

As did Presence, Led Zeppelin, and IV.

Man, I feel left out. My family only listens to the Alvin & The Chipmunks Christmas CD, and the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. And sometimes a blues/country Christmas comp.

I used to bump the Charlie Brown, but in recent years i've been bumping this. I love this album.

I might have to get this and play it on Christmas... I think my parents would actually accept it and it sounds a million times better than Alvin and the Chipmunks!

These two are the most obvious ones to me. It's the vocal harmonies and gentle melodic acoustic instruments, as well as the lyrics about nature, winter, snow and the like.

^ White Winter Hymnal came to mind for me, too.

Mine would be this one. I first heard it over Christmas break one year while I was driving and it was snowing, the title is Winter, and the one line that always sticks in my head is "And I wish I was out in California when the lights on all the Christmas trees went out.." I was never a big Rolling Stones fan but I do really like this song. When I hear it I think of winter break and driving home for Christmas.

The Beach Boys always remind me of Christmas. My mother loved the Beach Boys and played them frequently. I'm sure the association comes from the numerous Beach Boys Christmas songs she played. Regardless, any of their songs remind me of childhood holidays.

A thousand pardons.

A few days ago my daughter and me were discussing the tune I posted, she said it reminded her of Christmas when it came on the radio in the car. I agreed. I had to call her and ask who it was when I saw this thread.

BT's Dynamic Symmetry always reminds me of christmas - with it's offbeat bell melodies, and Vince Giraldi esque piano.
